Dallas historically, a railroad center, though by 1900 it was home of one of the world’s largest inland cotton markets. Dallas has more than 630 shopping centers, the most retail space per capita of any American city. The most famous is the Dallas Galleria, located at the intersection of the LBJ Freeway and the Dallas Parkway, which includes over 160 stores, such as Macy’s, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as an ice skating rink and restaraunts.
Those interested in the Dallas Cowboys must travel to nearby Irving where Texas Stadium is located. Guided tours and information are available of the 63,000-seat stadium.
